Great Western Road II

Aberdeen 2008

The clients, an artist and her husband, have been looking to remodel this charming semi detached granite dwelling for a number of years.

McColl Architects were approached to create a contemporary addition to their home that had its own language but respected the materials of the existing home.

The extension was influenced by the approach to form and the palatte of materials of the 'Other tradition of modern architecture.'

Through carefully selected openings and relationships to proposed garden spaces the building connects with its surroundings and will form a back drop for the clients art work and collection.
