The site, for this entire refurbishment of a fishermans cottage, sits on the Northen coast of the North East of Scotland. There is no road through the village, all the houses are accessed by a waterfront pathway.
We obtained Historic Scotland consent to add a new window to the gable of the property and the entire external envelope was repointed, decorated and upgraded.
Internally, the existing kitchen was completely remodelled with the addition of the new window, American white oak T+G panelling added to the walls, the original floor stripped and refinished and a galley style kitchen added to the rear wall.
A modernised bathroom was added with, this time, white T+G panelling to reflect the traditional detailing in the area, this is set off with oak worksurfaces.
The traditional stairwell and bedrooms were also given a clean, contemporary look.
